Puget Sound Energy Workshop

On October 4, the Olympia Area Chinese Association (OACA) hosted an engaging and informative workshop in partnership with Puget Sound Energy (PSE). The event was part of OACA’s ongoing Healthy Environment for All (HEAL) grant program, which aims to promote environmental awareness and sustainability within the local community through a series of educational lectures and hands-on activities.

The workshop featured Mr. Zach Kaija, Outreach Manager at PSE, who delivered a dynamic presentation on clean energy and sustainability efforts in Washington State. Zach introduced the audience to the state’s and PSE’s long-term goals for transitioning to renewable and low-carbon energy sources. He also provided a detailed overview of PSE’s clean energy programs, including rebates, home-energy assessments, and community efficiency initiatives that help residents save energy and reduce their carbon footprint.

Throughout the session, attendees showed great enthusiasm and engagement—asking thoughtful questions about renewable energy, electric-vehicle support, and household energy-saving strategies. Following the presentation, Zach and his team helped many participants register for PSE’s energy-efficiency and environmental programs directly on site, enabling families to take immediate steps toward greener living.

The event concluded with warm applause and words of appreciation from attendees, many of whom expressed how practical and inspiring the workshop had been. 2025年10月4日，奥林匹亚华人协会（OACA）与普吉特能源公司（PugetSound Energy, PSE）联合举办了一场内容丰富、互动热烈的清洁能源讲座。本次活动是华人协会在“HealthyEnvironment for All（HEAL）全民健康环境”环保资助项目下开展的一系列环保教育讲座之一，旨在提升社区居民的环保意识，推动可持续发展。

讲座邀请到PSE社区外联经理Zach Kaija先生主讲。他为大家深入介绍了清洁能源的发展趋势、华盛顿州及PSE在可持续能源转型方面的努力，以及PSE推出的多项节能减碳计划与家庭能效项目。Zach还通过生动的案例，分享了如何在日常生活中节能、降耗和减少碳排放。

现场气氛热烈，听众们踊跃提问，就电动车能源支持、家庭节能方案、以及可再生能源政策等议题展开了积极互动。讲座结束后，Zach还亲自帮助多位居民当场注册PSE的节能与环保项目，让大家能够立即采取行动，共同为清洁环境贡献力量。
