Congratulations to the New OACA Board for Year 2020-2022!
On August 16th, 2020, Olympia Area Chinese Association(OACA) hosted a Zoom meeting for its members from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM. It came as a big surprise as Ms. Toy Kay, the founder of OACA, also attended the virtual meeting. Mr. Gang Ma, the former president in 2016-2018, hosted the meeting for the board transitioning and new board inauguration. The meeting turned out to be a great success!
Forty-five members took part in this meeting and had constructive conversations about OACA’s past, present, and future. Current President Haisheng Mou kicked off the meeting with his speech for about 35 minutes. He introduced the structure of OACA and the role of each current board member. He then presented the events this current board organized during the past two years. He also briefed the audience on OACA’s current budgetary and financial standing, and the hand-over process to the new board. The current board members Haisheng Mou, Yuanlong Ge, Yan Dai, Ruth Qi, David Ding (together with Bin Zhang, Chun Wang, Yiru Lien, Amy Chen, and Vivian Hinrichsen who once served as board members) expressed their gratitude to all OACA members for their support in the past two years. They also answered the questions raised from the meeting, discussed challenges and opportunities the new board may face in the months ahead, and showed their willingness to help.

OACA would like to invite you to look back the journey we finished and all the wonderful events we organized in the past 2 years. These were joyful memories and unforgettable moments.
(We hosted a very successful 2019 Chinese New Year Gala and have done everything we can to prepare for the 2020 one. Unfortunately it was put on hold indefinitely due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Hope we will have a great 2021 gala and see everyone there!)
We will continue to build a strong bond as a community. Together we will strive and get better!
