Announcement - Chinese School Fall Enrollment Plan

Dear friends of Olympia,

OACA plan to reopen Chinese School in the Fall.  The start date, the choice of online or in-person classes will emulate that of the public schools of the Olympia School District.  For in-person classes, the location will remain in Westwood Baptist Church, and the class time will be changed to 2:40-4:50 on Sunday afternoon.

According to the current survey, we have students ranging from 4-5 years old to adults. The level of competency in Chinese is also very different.  We will try our best to meet everyone's needs in class grouping.  

Chinese school is a service provided by OACA for the community, not a for-profit organization. In the past nearly ten years, our tuition have only increased by $5, and the teacher’s stipend have not been adjusted for a long time.  Both cases are far from reflecting the reality in inflation. Starting next semester, our classroom rental cost will increase again.  In order to maintain the normal operation, the Board of OACA decided to make a on-time adjustment to $150/semester.  This is not a routine adjustment, please understand. 活动公告: 中文学校秋季開課計劃

奥村的朋友们，

OACA中文學校2021-2022年度秋季班，開學日期、網上或現場教學將與奧林匹亞學區公立學校同步。如果現場教學，場地仍然租用Westwood Baptist Church,上課時間改為周日下午2：40-4：50。

根據目前的報名情況，學生年齡小至四、五歲，大至成人。學生程度也相差迥異，我們會盡量滿足大家的需求，根據不同的年齡和層次分班。

大家都知道，中文學校是 OACA為社區提供的一項服務，並不以盈利為目的。在過去將近十年的時間里，我們的學費只漲了$5，教師的車馬費也長期沒有任何調整，與物價通脹的變化嚴重脫鈎。同時下個學期開始，我們的場地租用費也有增加。為了維護學校的正常運轉，奧林匹亞地區華人協會理事會經慎重商議，決定將學費調整為$150/學期。這將是在多年來未變動的基礎上做的一次性調整到位，不是常規性的操作，請大家理解。謝謝支持！
