Gourmet Kitchen Class Notice 4/03, Barbecued Pork Puffs

Dear OACA Members,

This is the third time Mr. Hou share his wonderful cooking experience.  Last time his smiley steam bun was a hit!  This time the puffy version is another classic Cantonese pastry that will make water in your mouth!

Today'’s Dish:【Barbecued Pork Puffs】

Date/Time:4/03 (Saturday) 4:00-5:00 PM

Instructor’s background:

Yuhan Hou, from Singapore, came to the United States in 1976.  His hobbies include cooking, baking, and cycling.  He loves to share good things in life.  He is blessed by God!


Ingredients and preparation: Puff

l  165 g all purpose flour 

l  165 g(1.5 sticks)butter 

l  83 g (1/3 cup) Ice water  

l  3 g (1/2 tsp) salt     


Ingredients and preparation:  Barbecued Pork filling

Part A 

l  300 g barbecue pork,diced (cooked, available at super market or Costco)

l  1/2 large onion, diced

l  3 Tbsp cooking oil

Part B

l  3 Tbsp soy sauce

l  2 Tbsp oyster sauce

l  2 Tbsp sugar

l  2 Tbsp sesame oil


Part C

l  1/2 Cup water

l  3 Tbsp corn starch

l  1 Tbsp flour


Kitchenware/Utensils:  Ordinary kitchen wares

准备原料 - 酥皮

普通面粉  165 克

黄油水  165 克 (1.5条)

盐  3 克 (1/2 茶匙)

冰水  83 克 (1/3杯)

准备原料 - 馅心

Part A 

l  300克 叉烧肉(超市或 Costco) ,切丁

l  1/2 个 大洋葱,切丁

l  3 大匙 色拉油


Part B

l  2 大匙 酱油 (3 tbsp)

l  1 大匙 蚝油 (2 tbsp)

l  2 大匙 糖 (2 tbsp)

l  2 大匙 香油  (2 Tbsp sesame oil)


Part C

l  1/2 杯 水

l  2 大匙 玉米粉 (3 Tbsp corn starch)

l  1 大匙 面粉 (1 Tbsp flour)
